For tomorrow's Lines of Flight online seminar, guest speaker Cara Hagan<https://www.carahagan.net/> will discuss her work as a screendance maker, curator, educator and scholar. She formerly was the Director for ADF’s Movies by Movers, an annual, international screendance festival under the auspices of the American Dance Festival. Her scholarly works can be found in the International Journal of Screendance, The Journal of Dance Education and Dance Magazine, and she is author of the book Screendance from Film to Festival: Celebration and Curatorial Practice (2022, McFarland Publishing). She has presented her work internationally, including at the Performática Festival in Cholula, Mexico, the Conference on Geopoetics in Edinburgh, Scotland, the Loikka Dance Film Festival in Helsinki, Finland, the Taos Poetry Festival in Taos, New Mexico, and the Dance on Camera Festival in New York City. Cara Joined the faculty of The New School in 2022 and works as Associate Professor and Program Director for the MFA in Contemporary Theatre Performance.
This seminar will be hosted by Ben Spatz<https://urbanresearchtheater.com/>, a nonbinary scholar-practitioner and a researchers in the development of new artistic and embodied research methods.

Centre for Experimental Practices (CXP)<https://research.hud.ac.uk/institutes-centres/cxp/> is an interdisciplinary research centre linking media, performance, contemporary art, and other fields. We investigate the experimental dimensions of practice: the ways in which practices are both structured by and productive of knowledge. CXP will develop new practice research methods incorporating the aesthetic, the embodied, the critical, and the empirical.
