The France: Musiques, Cultures, 1789-1918 research network will meet in
advance of the American Musicological Society Annual Meeting at the
Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel in Denver, Colorado from 8-9 November 2023.
Proposals on any aspect of music in France during the long nineteenth
century are welcome in all formats, including (but not limited to):
-
work-in-progress presentations (15-minute presentation + 15-minute
discussion)
-
formal research presentations (20-minute presentation + 10-minute
discussion)
-
panels/roundtable discussions on a topic/theme (flexible
format/duration)
The languages of the conference are English and French. Abstracts of no
more than 150 words indicating chosen format (panel abstracts may be longer
and should include speakers’ details) should be submitted by Friday, 9 June
2023, to Danielle Roman ([log in to unmask]). We anticipate that confirmations
of acceptance will be made by 23 June. A preliminary programme will be
prepared in July 2023. Informal enquiries may also be made to the same
