Dear all,
We recently received funding for 7 PhD positions in a collaboration between Linköping University, Gothenburg University and Chalmers University.
The positions are set within a transdisciplinary PhD school:
Just Transitions - Swedish Research School on Governance for Just Urban and Regional Climate Transitions
There is one position in Design (closes end of March), alongside the other positions in Architecture, Economics, Social work, Technology and social change, and Environmental social science.

The PhD school is structured based on four cross-cutting themes, which together form a framework for a fair climate transition:
* Conflicts and dilemmas in urban planning and decision-making for just climate transitions
* Justice as a tenet for urban climate transitions
* Boundary-spanning methods for research and transformations
* Capacities and competences for just climate transitions
Although equality is increasingly linked to the climate challenge, there is little or unstructured knowledge of how just climate transitions can come about in practice. For example, the fields of knowledge that have developed around transition have only to a limited extent been integrated with established research into urban justice and spatial planning. Other challenges concern the governance and management of just transitions. There is need for new knowledge on how public organisations can build the ability to lead and organise for the complex challenges resulting from a just climate transition.

Each of the PhD projects will be formed and carried out in collaboration with one of the practice partners, Gothenburg City, Region West Sweden, Regional County Board of Östergötland or Linköping Municipality. As parts of the data collection will be documents in Swedish, there are certain language requirements for the positions.
Welcome to apply for these exciting PhD positions! Or, spread the word about the positions
This project is funded by Formas - a Swedish Research Council for Sustainable Development, within the National Research Program for Sustainable Spatial Planning
Best regards
