TH53I - Cyberinfrastructure Tools for Microscopy and Experimental Rock Deformation Data
Please join us for a Town Hall focusing on Cyberinfrastructure tools for Microscopy and Experimental Rock Deformation at AGU 2022 in Chicago.
Cyberinfrastructure tools for microscopy and experimental rock deformation are being developed as part of the StraboSpot (StraboSpot.org) effort, an EarthCube sponsored initiative to facilitate collection, management, integration, and sharing of field, microstructural (images and analyses), and experimental rock deformation data. The goal of StraboSpot is to make these data consistent with FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable) principles and to integrate these data types into one shared datasystem. StraboSpot not only provides a shared data repository, but also the tools to collect and manage data and images.
A related NSF sponsored effort that will be discussed at this Town Hall is streamlining Laboratory Acquisition Protocols and Standards to facilitate data archival on the individual laboratory level for seamless integration into StraboSpot data repository.
The Town Hall will include demonstrations of current software capabilities for microstructural and experimental data. The focus of the Town Hall is to facilitate engagement of community members in the use of these cyberinfrastructure tools and to determine future directions
