Dear colleagues,
We invite you to be part of our EGU23 session SSP3.6, entitled « Diagenesis alterations in sedimentary basins: fluid-rock interaction and modification of rock properties».
https://meetingorganizer.copernicus.org/EGU23/session/45271
Diagenesis is well known as a mechanism which modifies the properties of carbonate and clastic rocks and forms new minerals. However, more needs to be done to better understand how diverse fluids modified (and modify) different host rocks and how their petrophysical properties vary through time. We invite communications focused on multidisciplinary approaches ranging from micro- to regional- scale studies in any geodynamic setting (extension, compression, salt-related basins…) to contribute to this session. Presentations focused on the role of diagenetic processes in energy transition projects are very welcome. Early Career Scientists are encouraged to participate, including half-bake ideas to promote discussion. Our aim is to provide a hybrid (in-person & virtual) live discussion about the-state-of-the-art of diagenetic processes studies and to identify promising paths for new research on that topic.
The list of sessions and information for abstract submission can be found here:
https://meetingorganizer.copernicus.org/EGU23/sessionprogramme
Support schemes have been put in place by the EGU Council to facilitate the widest possible participation in EGU23. More information can be found in here: https://egu23.eu/guidelines/supports_and_waivers.html
The abstract submission deadline is Tuesday, 10 January 2023, 13:00 CET.
We look forward to seeing you at EGU
Conviner: Vinyet Baqués (UB)
Co-Conveners: Mar Moragas (UiB), David Parcerisa (UPC), and David Gomez-Gras (UAB)
