For details of the British Academy scheme, including eligibility, see: https://www.thebritishacademy.ac.uk/funding/postdoctoral-fellowships/
Royal Holloway is the top-ranked submission for Music research in the UK, according to the Times Higher Education's analysis of the results of the Research Excellence Framework 2021. Our department offers a dynamic and stimulating environment for research, underpinned by a commitment to social justice and an inclusive vision of the role of music in today's world. Our staff expertise covers a broad chronology (from early music to contemporary) and geography (spanning the Americas, Asia and Europe). Our research clusters cross traditional disciplinary boundaries, integrating perspectives from the fields of creative practice, ethnomusicology, musicology and theory. We have an outstanding track record in mentoring postdoctoral scholars to complete successfully their projects and to gain more permanent positions within academia.
We have an internal selection process for prospective candidates. If you are interested, please send to Stephen Rose ([log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>) by Tuesday 6 September 2022 an outline proposal consisting of:
* a two-page summary of the planned project, using the British Academy's headings of Proposed Programme, Planned Research Outputs, Plan of Action, and Plans for Publication;
* a two-page CV;
* details of a Royal Holloway staff member who would mentor your project, and how your research would intersect with our expertise and activities at Royal Holloway.
