We are looking for a dynamic and ambitious academic researcher and/or practitioner to take on the Course Leadership of the Graduate Diploma in Graphic Design at Chelsea College of Arts (University of the Arts London). In this key role, you will be responsible for the academic leadership and management of the Graduate Diploma in Graphic Design course including the maintenance and enhancement of standards and responsibility for the design, development and delivery of the curriculum. The post will contribute to Design School’s commitment to Social Design and belief that Design can make a substantial and positive contribution to the development of society through engagement with sectors beyond the creative industries.
You will be a leading authority in the field of Graphic Design/Communication Design. You have the enthusiasm, expertise and communication skills to inspire and fully engage our diverse cohort of students. You will have experience of leading and/or directing a course in higher education (or comparable context), an ability to participate in curriculum development and assessment, have a sound knowledge of the theories and practices in Graphic Design, and contribute to the Programme’s research profile.
You should be comfortable working with diverse cohorts of students and committed to a teaching approach that integrates theory and practice and will engage students through a combination of innovative pedagogy, knowledge exchange and/or research.
An MA in Graphic Design or associated fields is essential. Candidates should possess a record of professional practice/research, with a proficiency in graphic design practice, theory and concepts.
You should be a researcher and/or a specialist practitioner who is keen to academically lead the Graduate Diploma in Graphic Design course. You will be proactive and actively contribute to the programme and course aims and vision. You should have a strong understanding of the contemporary context of Graphic Design in an academic and/or professional setting and be engaged in relevant networks and communities of practice within this and/or related fields.
