Dear Don,
You might read what folks write before uttering a mournful sigh. I didn't write about memory. I provided resources on knowing how and knowing that. This is a topic in epistemology.
I didn’t tell the design community anything and I didn't cite designers. I gave links to expert information for people who want to know more than they know now.
You are mistaken on a key point. Philosophers no longer rely exclusively on thought experiments. Philosophers now draw on experimental results from psychology, cognitive science, computing, applied mathematics, and more. They also draw on field work from social psychology, sociology, anthropology, and more. There is even an emerging field known as experimental philosophy. These philosophers perform experiments much as economists or psychologists do. (See Knobe and Nichols 2017 or Sytsma and Buckwalter 2016.)
Your current thinking on the pluriverse draws on philosophy, too. Even though you may not be in a silo, there is more to know about the wide and interdisciplinary work taking place in other sectors of philosophy.
I said nothing about memory. I wrote about knowing how and knowing that in the context of epistemology.
If there is something wrong with the entire field of epistemology, it would help if you explain what that is.
Yours,
Ken
