*Subject: *[design-faculty] announcing Associate Dean search
Dear colleagues,
I am pleased to announce that a faculty search for a new Associate Dean of
Graduate Education and Academic Affairs in the College of Fine Arts has
been posted and is accepting direct applications, as well as nominations:
https://apply.interfolio.com/93800.
As a member of the search committee, I am asking for you to review this job
posting, think about your networks and other graduate programs in your
area, then nominate individuals you think would be a good fit for this
position. You can nominate someone by writing to me with their name, a
brief explanation of why they are a good candidate, and their contact
information, if you have it. The search committee will reach out to
nominees.
Position Synopsis (more detail in the job posting):
This is a key faculty administrative position that reports to the Dean of
the College of Fine Arts and focuses in the areas of graduate programs and
academic affairs. The successful candidate will be appointed as faculty in
one of the College’s academic units and is expected to teach and conduct
research or creative activity in that unit, though the majority of their
work will be administrative. The ideal candidate will have a terminal
degree in their field and extensive administrative experience in a
peer-level institution, especially in graduate arts education. They will
demonstrate evidence of experience advancing arts education platforms
committed to diversity and inclusion; generating a rigorous culture of
innovation in research, creative activity, and pedagogy; teaching
successfully, especially at the graduate level; and researching or
practicing creative activity in a creative discipline at a level of
national recognition sufficient for appointment with tenure. The College
seeks candidates whose prior academic activity has prepared them to
contribute to our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion and
support students from diverse backgrounds.
Let me know if you have any questions about the position and thank you for
your nominations,
Kate
