Hello Stephane,
Provoking question.
I have found no literary comparison. On the contrary, no division.
Engineering-Design and / Design and Engineering have been intertwined in
literary resources and in design history. From the act of design in
engineering, there is plenty. Being part of both Worlds and studying them,
I'd say that again, they are (from my POV) indivisible. In the case of
their subdisciplines, there is more or less presence of design. It is even
more indivisible in the case of product design or systems design or even
computer design. In the case of curricula, well, there it depends on what
part of the World are you standing on... on the heritage, on the highlights
in that way of educating.
All the best,
