Hi TeachLingers,
If you have served on an interview panel, and especially if you have been part of the
(usually) smaller (usually) professorial committee actually deciding who to appoint,
please get in touch. I want to arrange a free online roundtable seminar on mastering
the bizarrely specific genre that is the academic job application, and the equally
mysterious skill of the academic job interview.
This would be a joint Zoom call, open to all, with a few experienced interviewers
giving top tips followed by open Q&A. I would also record it for others to access
later as a support resource.
I've been coordinating international online seminars on Zoom this academic year, so I
have a handle on the technical side of things. All I need is your time and your advice.
Hope to hear from you soon!
And if you haven't been on an interview panel but still want to help, I just learned
about this excellent online resource where you can share successful job applications
as examples for others to learn from:

All the best,
Dave
