very interesting thread to follow about translation of, and, affordances (which colleagues and I also have struggled with translating into Norwegian…).
For me, putting intention into the mix as you suggest (if I interpret your post correctly) by «unintended functions» would possibly be a case of anthropomorphising the objects that might or might not have affordances; can they have – or not have – intentions?
