Thank you, Danielle. I appreciate that you are trying to expand the conversation.
Would you perhaps like to partner with me on setting a better platform?
Since we are all in remote working mode right now, we can do this from anywhere in the world.
However, I do need to say that excluding "old normal" voices from participating in such conversations can be counterproductive. There are many individuals who fall under the typical white, old, male, Global North stereotype who are genuinely interested in supporting these kinds of initiatives. Their standing in the field, their networks and connections, knowledge and experience can be a great asset. Why discoursing these people from getting involved or taking a part in the conversation? These individuals can provide great allyship. Without building bridges, we are not really talking about real inclusion - we are talking about further exclusion and about creating two separate camps.
In any case, if you want to take this to the next level, then I will be happy to help and make that possible.
My email is [log in to unmask] and we connect off-list and create an event together.
As in my previous message, I am happy to extend an invitation all members of this community to share ideas and participate in creating a new kind of event that will give voice to a whole new cohort of underrepresented designers.
All the best,
Gjoko
