Please can I draw your attention to this Consultant Clinical Scientist post in Biochemistry. This post offers an exciting opportunity to join the Clinical Biochemistry team at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
The successful applicant will have an interesting and varied role and will be expected to support the existing Consultant to deliver and maintain a fully UKAS ISO 15189:2012 accredited service. They will participate in the Duty Biochemist rota, providing interpretation, clinical validation and expert advice for all tests. There are plenty of opportunities to undertake assay and service development projects and to work closely with clinical colleagues in other departments and within Southern Counties Pathology. We work closely with our clinical teams and attend regular MDT meetings for Endocrinology and Neuroendocrine tumours. The department has an active research focus and current projects include the evaluation of new biomarkers for sepsis.
The out of hours on call commitment for this post is currently under review. The successful candidate would be joining the team at a crucial time as we progress towards the implementation of new laboratory equipment and a transition to a new Blood Sciences laboratory. A visit to the laboratory is highly recommended.
Interested candidates must have current registration as a Clinical Scientist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and have attained full Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists.
