Dear All,
I just discovered this and thought it would be of interest to many of you.
McKinsey interviewed 200 senior design leaders and 100 top executives and
analyzed the answers of more than 1,700 respondents to the McKinsey Design
Index (MDI) survey tool.
According to this “research”, two problems exist: a lack of clarity about
where and how senior design leaders can contribute, and uncertainty about
how much to expect of them in their role.
It seems to me this study is relevant only if one considers that the main
value of design is a business value. But it is interesting to see that,
still in 2020, “what is design” seems still unclear, even in the industry.
