I was wondering what advice if any laboratories provide concerning the interpretation of renin results in patients on mineralocorticoid replacement.
Do laboratory staff discourage testing as being of questionable value?
Or target the upper end of the reference range or suggest values above the reference range are appropriate?
Thank you for your help, this has been prompted following an change in provider of our renin assay and questions raised by our endocrinologists.
