The University of Hull is seeking to appoint an External Examiner for collaborative provision at Bishop Burton College, overseeing FdSc and BSc Canine and Behaviour Training programmes on a four-year tenure.
Core duties include
• monitoring the continued currency and validity of the programme as a whole;
• verifying that the standards of the assessment of programme learning outcomes/competencies are appropriate for the level of award;
• attending all Boards of Examiners at which student achievement is classified and degree awards and progression are recommended;
• comparing the academic standards of student performance with those of other higher education institutions;
• ensuring that the Boards of Examiners are adhering to the regulations pertaining to the calculation of awards and progression;
• submitting an annual report using the University’s pro-forma once per academic year.
It is anticipated that the successful applicant will have relevant expertise in this field and ideally, will have acted as an external examiner on a similar programme.
The successful applicant will be paid the standard University fee (subject to student numbers) and any reasonable travelling expenses.
