Call for Proposals: Joint MeCCSA Practice Network/Media Practice and Education (MPE) Annual Symposium 2020
After a successful 2019 symposium at the University of Kent, Media Practice and Education and the MeCCSA Practice network are calling for proposals to host the 2020 annual symposium.
This one-day symposium is an annual event dedicated to the sharing of teaching and research of practice within higher education. The symposium hosts will guest edit a special issue of the journal, Media Practice and Education, for publication in 2021, which will include work presented at the event.
Institutions interested in hosting the symposium in 2020 are invited to submit proposals.
Proposals should be no more than two pages and include:
Institution and department;
Leadership and management personnel, including peer assessment process;
Proposed title of the symposium;
Theme of the symposium and accompanying rationale;
Proposed date and location (preferably in the month of June);
Suggested speakers, format, venue and any other logistics;
Information on transport links to the host institution;
Financial arrangements: i.e. costs and income streams (how much requested from MPE/MeCCSA);
Proposed budget detailing costs (you must include catering, travel, bursaries, speaker fees, ticket costs).
Please note that the MeCCSA practice network will provide a contribution to part-funding the event however it is expected that the host institution will adequately support the event through securing its own funding. If you would like further information on the amount of support please email.
