We are currently seeking 2 new members of clinical scientist staff to join our team.
The department of clinical biochemistry operates a hub (Royal London) and spoke (Barts, Whipps Cross and Newham) model, processing in excess of 14 million routine chemistry and immunoassay tests and 135,000 specialist tests including vitamin and trace element analysis, toxicology, specialist endocrinology and haematological oncology investigations.
We are in the final roll-out phase of new Roche automated equipment at the Royal London hub site that should complete in the next 6 months, giving us matching equipment across all four of our sites and with a single LIMS already operational.
In October we are installing two new Waters Xevo TQ-XS to complement our existing but ageing mass spectrometers and have a programme of R&D to develop our services and research.
The 8A is a newly created post to support our specialist service areas. We particularly welcome staff with experience in one or more of the following: LC-MS/MS, HPLC, trace elements, proteins, point-of-care testing. You must be state registered with the Health Care Professions Council as a Clinical Scientist (Clinical Biochemistry) and hold part 1 of the FRCPath by examination, or equivalent. A track record of research and development and a PhD are desirable. You will be based at the Royal London hub with occasional travel to the spoke sites as required. Closing date 20/08/19.
