Hello,
I am interested to find out if there is a biodegradable library card available.
The company we currently use has 14001 environmental certification and they say that there isn't a true recyclable plastic yet developed for use as a plastic card. The card we use has a biodegradable core, which is covered by polyester plastic, so would eventually end up as landfill.
I've seen that San Fran Public LIbrary has introduced a biodegradable card made from corn. I haven't found a UK based equivalent. Fotodek do an eco range that should break down in 1-5 years. Has anyone had any success sourcing an envoronmentally friendlier alternative to polyester plastic?
