Hi,
This is caused by detector defects.
Polishing does not take hot pixels and defect information into account.
Even when they were concealed during initial motion correction,
they can come back after Polishing.
Please perform Class2D on shiny particles to remove particles with
defective pixels. In RELION 3.1, Polishing will take care of hot
pixels and defects.
Best regards,
Takanori Nakane
