Hi Zooarchers!
I have identified two remains of fallow deer (Dama dama) on a medieval site near Paris (13th-16th c.), and am searching for contemporary evidence of the species in France. Thanks to the work of Noami Sykes and colleagues, I have found abundant research on the species in the UK, but am drawing a blank in France - I have only found one mention of the species, in the early modern assemblage of Chateau de Vincennes. Can anyone help me out?
Thanks in advance!
Annelise
