Dear all,
The directors of TRACEY: drawing and visualisation research are please to announce the launch of the new website: https://www.lboro.ac.uk/research/tracey/. TRACEY’s aim is to stimulate, host and publish diverse perspectives on drawing and visualisation to/for a community of researchers, practitioners, educators and students. We advocate the value of drawing and visualisation in professional and educational contexts.
We encourage participation and collaboration. Our aims are facilitated through two central activities: as an International peer-reviewed electronic open access journal and as host for the Drawing Research Network (DRN).
The journal aims to publish drawing and visualisation research (visual, audio and textual), in order to introduce a diverse range of material to practitioners, educators, students and researchers. In this respect, the journal aims to represent many perspectives on drawing and visualisation and advocates the value of drawing in professional and educational contexts. Annually the journal will invite submissions through two routes:
1. an annual call will invite submissions against a specific research theme, typically for submission in September and publication in March
2. we will accept the submission of speculative papers, at any point in the year, with a final deadline of March, for an edition typically published in September. This will offer the opportunity for authors to disseminate their research on any theme.
The journal is now hosted on the Open Journal system platform at Loughborough University and can be accessed here: https://ojs.lboro.ac.uk/TRACEY It is the intention of TRACEY to migrate all peer-reviewed content to the OJS system, whilst this process is ongoing the previous TRACEY site will serve as an archive of legacy content. The original site is still available here: https://www.lboro.ac.uk/microsites/sota/tracey/journal/index.html
The Drawing Research Network (DRN) is an international community of researchers/artists/designers/educators. Alongside the existing drawing research email discussion list, the new DRN blog offers a place where people can engage in debate about all aspects of drawing practice (theory, philosophy, education, methodology), post details of upcoming events and exhibitions and disseminate research and practice in progress.
We hope that you will find the new website facilitating and continue to assist TRACEY in developing this rich area of research and practice.
