LERD

Little fish scent
everyone might be tempted to
register . . .
Don't have it.

Lucky to be able to witness this Iranian director's 6th film after its initial showing in Washington DC was cancelled via DT's government shutdown. In fact, none of his films have been publicly screened in Iran. Each has appeared first at international film festivals. Rasoulof and his contemporary Jafar Panahi have been tried by "their" government, found guilty, sentenced to jail and/or house arrest, and yet somehow managed to finish quite a number of "moving image constructions" despite being banned from making "movies". Here's a link to an in-person screening of LERD at Stanford University:

After 6 weeks, I finally decided to excise this passage, starting right after "register" in the third line:
"[Rather than buying your farm, we propose you as representative of the company.] "
Spatially I thought it would blur the acrostic, but it is a choice example, spoken by a power broker in that area, of corrupt business practices.
