Dear Mitchell
I haven't done any direct research or practical work on this topic of
dis/mis-information and design. However my focus on artefacts use, and
particularly artefactual usage in the context of the so-called
'Undeveloped-Developing World', especially here in Africa, the topic you
raise has also been one of my major design concerns.
Here in Africa, we have been, and still are told that 'truth' about the

So, when I read posts on this topic you raised, and also in today's issue
of Project Syndicate:
https://www.project-syndicate.org/onpoint/the-pre-history-of-post-truth-by-jan-werner-mueller-2019-04?utm_source=Project%20Syndicate%20Newsletter&utm_campaign=76820d1682-op_newsletter_2019_26_4&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_73bad5b7d8-76820d1682-106444047&mc_cid=76820d1682&mc_eid=814c58c805&barrier=accesspaylog
a mention on the 'role of special -Western - interests and -Western -
specific policies' (aided in that by designers) in shaping the now
globelized "truth", I couldn't refrain myself in inviting you and
encouraging you to carry on with your research.
Good luck, and please inform us on any outcome of your work!
