All right, so I have received A LOT of answers, on- and off-list. Thanks for the enthusiasm!
There seems to be some kind of consensus, with multiple people identifying Minke whales.
I will check tomorrow to see if the earbones match.
I also received some questions regarding :
- the place where these skulls were collected: we don't know for sure, but apparently they were bought in New Zealand in 1906
- the size of the specimens : 11110 is approximately 59 (heigth) x 215 x 110 cm. 11113 is 37 x 164 x 82 cm.
Please continue to contribute if you have other ideas, or if you agree with saying these specimen are both minke whales.
