Dear colleagues,
You are invited to the launch of the Centre for Music & Conflict on Wednesday 20 March 2019 4:15pm, Lecture Theatre, RNCM.
The Research Forum marks the launch of our new Music and Conflict Centre at the RNCM. We have invited a number of experts on different aspects of the Centre’s theme to discuss their research and creative work. Speakers will include Professor James Gow (Professor of International Peace and Security at King's College, University of London), Professor Adam Gorb (RNCM), poet/librettist Ben Kaye, Dr Felicity Laurence, Dr David Fligg (RNCM) and Professor Barbara Kelly (RNCM). They will discuss themes of war and commemoration, creative representation, music education and trauma, with particular focus on music and the arts during World War I and II. The event will include recorded and live music with RNCM students and will be followed by a wine reception.
Free admission; all welcome
Best wishes,
Barbara
