Dear Serena,
In Doing Realist Research (2018), Geoff Wong writes:
Relevant data
Data are relevant in a realist review when they are able to help us develop, corroborate, refute or refine aspects of a realist programme theory (or theories). Such data may come from many types of sources - not all of which are documents. For example in our realist review which developed a programme theory on the implementation of legislation for public health (Pawson & Wong 2014;Pawson, Owen, & Wong 2010a;Pawson, Wong, & Owen 2011a;Pawson, Wong, & Owen 2011b;Wong, Pawson, & Owen 2011), an interview on the radio (The Today Programme) provided us with ideas for a middle range programme theory (Pawson, Owen, & Wong 2010b). Listening to the exchange we were able to develop five questions that formed the backbone of our programme theory (not initially realist in nature), which we then refined against data included in the realist review.

Dear All,
Does anyone have any experience of, or tips or resources related to using discussion board/discussion group/blog data in realist reviews?
Many thanks in advance,
Serena
