Postgraduate Research at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire Open Day
We warmly invite anyone interested in postgraduate research to attend Royal Birmingham Conservatoire’s Open Day on Thursday 24 January. The event gives you the opportunity to learn more about our programmes, talk to staff and explore our brand-new building.
Royal Birmingham Conservatoire (part of Birmingham City University) offers both a one-year MA in Musicology and PhDs in musicology, performance, composition, music technology, jazz and performance practice. Our full list of specialisms can be found at: http://www.bcu.ac.uk/conservatoire/research/groups-and-specialisms.
Royal Birmingham Conservatoire is home to world-leading research; REF 2014 confirmed our position as the leading UK conservatoire for 'research power'. We have a lively community of 60 researchers (doctoral and masters-level) undertaking a wide range of projects. Students benefit from the facilities in our new £57-million building, the first conservatoire to be built in the digital age, and from access to high-level performers and musicians. Royal Birmingham Conservatoire will also be hosting the 2020 International Biennial Conference on Baroque Music and the 2021 Biennial International Conference on Music Since 1900. Our programme offers the flexibility to present your findings in a range of formats, depending on the nature of your research, whether it be fully text-based or practical (composition, performance or scholarly edition) with a written element.
Registration for the Open Day is available at: https://www.bcu.ac.uk/conservatoire/about-us/open-days.
