Or if you have really good MIS report writers, they could probably write a report and do it for you. I agree though, Unit E is a nightmare and that's if you realise that you have made an error, often you don't even know as there are no reminders asking you to save or if you are sure you want to do something. It's far too easy to create chaos. I'm not a fan!

Subject: Re: Withdraw/Delete Students from an Entry - Bulk
Hi Chris,
I imagine a fair few of us have been in this position before (I have many memories clicking delete on a BTEC and then on all 20 units, for 10-20 students). I think the reason bulk deletion isn't allowed is because it's not 'best practice' to remove all trace of an entry you've made, but in reality there are often times a bulk deletion would be very useful.
My solution when I've made a mistake of block-entering multiple students is to use grid to mark all student statuses as 'withdrawn' on the exam subject entry you have mistakenly made. You can then also use grid to manually set the 'submitted' flag on these entries from 'false' to 'true' so that when you run an EDI file for these students unit-e won't try to generate an entry for them, as it will see the 'true' flag and believe it has already been done before.
Kind regards,
Matt

Hi Chris,
I'm very sorry to say that it is not possible to bulk delete entries.
I know this because I have just spent 2 days deleting all my WJEC Summer entries because they've updated the basedata!!!! You have to delete each paper entry then the subject entry for each student.... Enjoy!!!
Sorry - Fiona

Subject: Withdraw/Delete Students from an Entry - Bulk
Hello,
How do I bulk delete entries on UNIT-e? None of the entries have been formally submitted to awarding bodies yet which is why I need them deleted.
So, I have imported OCR Basedata for the summer series but did not click on the "Types" tab and select the relevant type (GCE, GCSE etc...). When I made the entries I selected (we'll use Biology as an example) H446 then selected the Option A from the three available.
When I check the entry screen (on Exams 2) it doesn't indicate that students have been entered for Option A, but just against H446. I need to delete all the entries that I have made against H446 and then re-enter them for the correct option which is H446A.
Now this is how I entered students for the November GCSE exams and it's proved to be a right nightmare getting Edexcel results in as UNIT-e didn't recognize the results as their file stated an option, either 1MA1F or 1MA1H but UNIT-e registrations only showed as 1MA1 so no results could be imported.
Doing it the correct way (against the option) means that 95% of the current reports will work when the summer results come out. If I leave it as it is all those reports will need to be re-written and a lot of manual work on my part to get the results into UNIT-e.
We currently use a combination of both Exams 1 & Exams 2.
