Hi everyone,
We are offering a fully-funded realist PhD studentship: 'What works to support the mental health of young people who are leaving statutory care'. Deadline for applications is February 1st 2019.
https://www.cardiff.ac.uk/study/postgraduate/research/programmes/project/what-works-to-support-the-mental-health-of-young-people-leaving-statutory-social-care-in-wales
The candidate will conduct a realist review and realist evaluation. They will engage with young people, social workers, and social care decision-makers. The aim is to better understand how to support care-experienced young people's mental well-being and ability to maintain and sustain independence. The focus of the project is on creating evidence that will directly inform social care policy and practice.
The studentship is one of the Wales Doctoral Training Partnership ESRC studentships. The PhD is a collaboration between the Children's Social Care Research and Development Centre (CASCADE, Cardiff University) and Health and Care Research Wales. This partnership offers direct access to policy makers in Welsh Government and thus the opportunity for the candidate's research to directly impact on social care policy and practice.

Many thanks,
Sarah
