Dear All,
We are happy to announce that the Post-medieval/Historical Zooarchaeology working group has been approved by the ICAZ committee. We would like to thank those that expressed an interest in the group. We were overwhelmed by the amount of support and now have 75 members! If you are interested in joining please get in touch and we will add you to our mailing list.
UPDATES
Name change
After reviewing comments from the committee, we decided to change the name of the working group to “ZOOARCHAEOLOGY OF THE MODERN ERA”. We hope this new name will be more inclusive and clearer that the group welcomes anyone interested in zooarchaeology of the last ~500 years from ANY geographic region or culture. More information on our group’s focus is available on the official website. http://alexandriaarchive.org/icaz/workmodernera
New email address
We have set up a new email for the working group

Future plans
We plan to invite everyone to meet once every two years, including at the quadrennial ICAZ meeting. The first meeting will take place in 2020 and the following one will be during the 2022 ICAZ conference.
A website will be set up in the near future to post news and updates.
Best wishes,
Rebecca Gordon and Eric Tourigny
