A critical/anthropological view on design thinking is given by Lilly Irani
[1], Lee Vinsel [2] and Tim Seitz [3]. Design Thinking is not the same as
GV Sprints, but I guess it's close enough.
For the user research aspect of it it could be interesting to look at
Nafus/Anderson and related research [4]. Woolgar wrote a classic study on
the role of "users" in the product creatiion process [5]; Wilkies work [6]
explores a similar topic.
For the concept of innovation, there seems to be quite a lot of Science and
Technology studies related research, maybe Bjiker's book [7] is a good
start.
