Hi again,
Jacob: we are on Sierra and, as of our installation last October, I can confirm that Lapsafe's setup still needs the two SIP accounts for Sierra.
Caroline: The license was per SIP account, even though there's only one connecting IP. Lapsafe use multiple processes running simultaneously which required separate accounts.
For access permissions to Sierra, only the IP of the unit needs access granted to the selfcheck service with an entry in LNA. The two accounts themselves don't need to be associated with the IP inside Sierra at all, just with the selfcheck user group in the account parameters. In LNA, leaving the login name blank 'forces' any connection from the defined IP to also authenticate with a valid username/password. This lets multiple accounts use the same LNA entry if they share the same IP.
The association happens at Lapsafe's end; Lapsafe's application processes are assigned the relevant login (and password) inside the application and the authentication happens as part of services connection to Sierra.
Regards
Charles

Hi Charles
Thanks for this, I have set up the user accounts for SIP2 myself before in Sierra Admin and I associated (in my mind rather than the system!) each entry in the LNA with a SIP licence. So I’m missing something, how do III associate the logins with the one IP but two licences? Or is it something they do behind the curtain?
Jacob - we moved to unlimited SIP, it’s not cheap but I think of value if this is an area of expansion for you.
Thanks
All the best
Caroline
