Our PgDip Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapies (CBP) course enables graduates of the course to apply Level 2 Provisional Accreditation as a Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist with the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapists (BABCP). The course enables our students to develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes that underpin CBP practice. Students explore the underlying principles of CBT and have opportunities to develop skills in the assessment of clients and the analysis of their presenting difficulties as well as to develop a detailed knowledge of treatment models of anxiety disorders and depression, and their application to clinical casework. The PGDip is part-time and is delivered over a period of two years. Students have the option to study the course as an MSc Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapies over a period of three years through the completion of a further year of study in addition to the course content studied on the PGDip. In addition to the MSc and PGDip course delivered at the Bolton Campus, our PGDip course is also delivered as a bespoke course in Wakefield, Yorkshire. Further, we also have MSc/PGDip Courses delivered by our partners at New York College in Athens. A standalone continuing professional development module in Using CBT with Clients With Persistent and Distressing Long-Term Health Conditions is also offered by the course team on a part-time basis over 6 months. A variety of assessment methods are utilised across our courses including essays, presentations, case reports, portfolios, dissertations and assessment of recorded clinical practice.
