Dear Geo-Tectonics community,
GSA International provides travel grants geared towards helping non-North American scholars attend the Society’s annual meeting. The support is geared towards scholars from countries/regions with economic circumstances that make it a challenge to attend international meetings. Please circulate to colleagues you think might benefit from this type of opportunity (see text below).
All the best,
Gregory Hoke
Chair of GSA's International Interdisciplinary Interest Group.
Come present your research the Geological Society of America’s annual meeting in Indianapolis, Indiana 04-07 November 2018! GSA International sponsors travel grants to offset the costs for non-North American (defined as USA, Canada and Mexico) scholars to attend the Society’s Annual meeting. With sessions on the Anthropocene to Zircon Geochronology, the annual meeting covers the full breadth of the geosciences and offers unique opportunities to present work, exchange ideas and network with scientists from North America and the rest of the world! Please visit the meeting website (http://community.geosociety.org/gsa2018/home) to identify the right session for your work.
Applications are due on 05 July 2018. For more details on the application procedure and eligibility, please visit (https://tinyurl.com/y738q56s). While GSA and GSAI membership is preferred, it is not necessary to be considered for an award. All successful applicants must also submit an abstract to the conference prior to the close of abstract submission on 14 August 2018. GSAI anticipates providing ~10-15 travel grant awards.
