Hello all,
A simple one perhaps? We are currently discussing reporting of results from specimens which have suspected trisodium citrate contamination. This is inevitably seen in samples from our dialysis unit.
I would gratefully hear how people deal with reporting these results.
Do you
(a) report all results + a comment regarding suspected contamination + repeat?
(b) remove all results, make the sample 'unsuitable' + a comment regarding suspected contamination + repeat?
(c) remove only the sodium result + a comment regarding suspected contamination + repeat?
(d) do something entirely different?
Would you always phone the requestor to query the likelihood of the contamination?
Thanks in anticipation,
Janice
