I said that in the second half of my note. I should have gone back to edit the first half — I did not use the word “only,” but I forgot to add the rest. Figure 4 (Friedman 2012: 148-149) in the article “Models of Design” make it clear that we agree on this.

The question of how to deal with domains of knowledge involves too many issues to discuss in a short note. These issues are situated in a specific context, and they depend on the background, experience, predilections, and interests of each researcher or designer. That’s too much to address in a short post, so I’ll stop here.
