This is very good news! Do any LSA/LSNZ attendees know if this is still going on?
And does anyone know of anything similar in other continents?
And I'd further recommend the 'Languages and Dialects in the US' book; a nice
surprise for an edited volume in having such extensive exercises for students.
I'm not altogether sure an unofficial fringe event would really work though. As it
happens I did look into this for other purposes at a previous SS conference, and just
figured it wouldn't really fit anywhere - and that was without considering the
logistics of room bookings etc.
