Hello colleagues,
I am gathering information on initiatives on higher education for refugees and asylum seekers globally. This includes those that address scholarships, access, information, credential qualifications, retention and even resettlement through higher education.
This is for a background paper that will be part of UNESCO-GEMR's upcoming report on migration and education. To include your initiative, please include a brief note directly in this excel sheet and forward to colleagues or networks that may be relevant.

You can find a bit of information on the UNESCO GEMR report on migration here: https://en.unesco.org/gem-report/report/2019/migration
Below are other sections of the background paper on higher education for refugees. If you have any data/ information, please do also send directly. I am particularly looking for statistics and numbers reached beyond what I can find on websites.
I will only report data at the country level or institutional type so that any data you share about your institution will be anonymous if you request that it is not to be identified.
- Estimates of refugee participation in higher education (more specific than the 1% globally)
- Incentives and provision of tailored support
- Special refugee-focused programmes
Thank you very much,
Dr. Martha K. Ferede
