Dear small animal zooarchs,
A little boy found this bone, which at first glance I thought was fish
by its composition, likely dorsal spine due to it being symmetrical.
I took a second look at it and thought it possible to be an amphibian's
urostyle, but I'm definitely leaning towards fish (it has articular
facets, not canals).
From some sketches I've seen online, it could be in the Rockfish
category, which would make sense for the Delaware River Valley, if
memory serves.
