Dear All
We have a patient who has received high dose methotrexate under the Haematologists. As per routine protocol we have been analysing the sample until the drug is undectectable. However after 8 days it is still detectable by our assay and is being queried by our clinicians. Samples have been analysed by both the ARK and Siemens assay and show concordant results. eGFR has remained > 60 ml/min
Methotrexate free serum pools have been analysed and result as undetectable
Serum indices are normal
Are there any Abbott users that could analyse some samples on the chemilluminescent assay for us to help rule out some sort of interference? Are there any other methods out there ?(I can only see 3 on NEQAS reports)
Has anyone else experienced this?
Many Thanks in Advance for your help
Sarah
