Our perspective on Experience Design at Northeastern University follows a holistic and integrative approach to design that focuses on the quality of the human experience in concrete situations. It employs investigation, analysis, creativity and technology as tools to understand human goals, needs, and desires and to mediate the human experience.
Designers search for cues to friction, flaws, errors and gaps in the systems that produce the aesthetic consequences and consequential etiquette of a situation. The initial attention to form and function shifts to form and belief, form and emotion, form and behavior and ultimately to form and fruition. Experience design locates, identifies and studies events and how they can be turned into valued moments and benefits to human experiences.
Best regards,
Kristian
