medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
1 It's the publishers who monetize your work - the cost of downloading
.pdfs from the publisher's site is exorbitant. (BTW, check out the back
catalogue prices of OUP works and what this means for ECRs and libraries
which need to get back catalogue works).
2 It's the publishers who take advantage of the research which is publicly
funded as you receive a salary from your HEI - the journal editors and
referees also receive a salary from your HEI.
3 If you use Google, Apple, Microsoft etc, you are assisting tax avoidance
which affects the funding of higher education.
