The NICE Centre for Guidelines develops guidance on the promotion of good health and social care and the prevention of ill health, the appropriate treatment and care for people with specific diseases and conditions, and service delivery.
The guidance is used by those working in the NHS, local government, social care, and patients and their families.
The methods and economics team provides quality assurance from a technical perspective throughout the development of a guideline, including, scoping, development and validation.
The team also provides an analytical service to inform judgements about the need to update guidelines; the economists also contribute to guideline development. The team also foster further development of methods in areas identified as priorities.
Exciting opportunities are now available for a Technical Analyst to join the scoping and post consultation team within the methods and economics team. You will become an integral part of the team, contributing to the development of NICE guidelines, which will involve scoping and post consultation of updated guidelines. You will also support the development of guideline methods, in conjunction with other members of the team.
The post-holder must possess a variety of skills and proven demonstrable experience of:
• Systematic evidence reviewing procedures and techniques - including critical appraisal, interpretation and synthesis of health care research evidence
• Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
• Working independently to tight deadlines
• Establishing good working relationships with a range of professional and working flexibly as part of a team
