Jérôme Ros, Michelle Alexander and I are pleased to announce that our session entitled "Farming under the Crescent moon: archaeological insights into the medieval 'Islamic Green Revolution'" has been accepted as part of the program of the Annual Meeting of the European Association of Archaeologists, which will be held in Barcelona between 5th-8th September 2018 (yeah, unfortunately it coincides with the ICAZ conference...).
The session aims to bring together researchers who have an interest in the consequences of the medieval Islamic conquests on farming systems in the Middle East, North Africa, Sicily or Iberia from bioarchaeological (zooarchaeology, archaeobotany, biomolecular analysis), geoarchaeological and other related perspectives, in order to discuss the contribution of archaeological data to the understanding of the agrarian regime(s) in the medieval Dar al-Islam.
