My graphic design studio classes meet for three hours twice a week. The classes are one semester long but arranged sequentially. A set term has many benefits beyond "simply" room scheduling.

That is true of many. I plead not guilty on that count. It’s been relatively recently that I have made my living for longer as a university professor than I had as a working graphic designer.
