The Telegraph recently posted an article on problems with academic standards
that may be of interest.

ofessor-who-stood-up-against-dumbing-down-of-degrees.html
if this also impacts design education, how would it be expected to affect
the quality of design output for industry?
If the effect is likely to be adverse, how long will it take to have a
significant adverse effect on the economy and people's lives?
Will it result in a feedback cycle by which design education reduces in
quality and then design in industry does which provides feedback so design
education reduces quality further and so on?
Best wishes,
Terry
