“A Post-structuralist Fantasy & Freezywater”
Composer Leo Chadburn introduces Peter Greenaway’s fantastical short film, Vertical Features Remake (1978), which parodies and plays with the ideas of structuralist cinema, and his own work for chamber ensemble and speaking voices, Freezywater, which shares some parallel concerns.
SPARC focuses on 21st-century sound and music, including composition, sound art, music technology, performance, and scholarship. It is a meeting point for research and practice and provides a home for ensembles-in-residence, visiting fellows and guest artists. Our bi-weekly Listening Group meets to listen and to discuss a wide variety of music.
