Hi Stephen,
It is a topic surely for all Design education conferences. I have published some papers and my PhD partly considered this looking at Millennials/Net Generation/Generation Y learners considering how teaching and learning experiences can be moulded for students that have grown up in the digital age (specifically in regards to socially sustainable product design, critical thinking and deep learning) . These papers are available (mostly open access) on my academia page: https://nottinghamtrent.academia.edu/MatthewWatkins
Although one could argue that we are now seeing a newer even more enhanced version of digital learners (Generation Z) entering HE now.
How this is affecting a Korean perspective would be interesting and I am currently engaging in collaborative research comparing Australian and UK students uptake and attitudes towards sustainabitlity, which we could potentially expand in the future if you were interested to include Korea?
Kind regards,
Matthew

Thanks Stephen and Alok,
the thing is in the dialogue and development under the umbrella of Cumulus International Association of Universities and Colleges in Art, Design and Media. IxDA is our partner and I am sure we could share more with everybody this, too.
Best thanks Eija

Subject: Emergent trends in undergraduate Design education
Hello Stephen,
The "Education Summit" within Interaction annual conferences might be of interest as we are exploring some of these topics there.
Next one is in February 2018 in Lyon.
http://edusummit.ixda.org/ <http://edusummit.ixda.org/> - it is a place where educators are in dialogue with practitioners http://interaction18.ixda.org <http://interaction18.ixda.org/>
Call is open for workshops & talks, hence it's a place where we can develop these questions.
Having perspectives from Asia would be great.
Best regards,

We are now witnessing a new kind of student who's mindsets and motivations are completely different due to information technology's impact on daily life and its change in behavior. Old skillsets are being discarded and new skillsets are being given precedent. It is becoming increasingly difficult to judge what knowledge and skills are relevant for the future of design education. Some clarity and perspective is now necessary on this issue from the scholar level.

What I am seeing however is no attention to how all of this new technology has changed the student who is at the center of all of this new measurement. Are there any design conferences that address this issue of new student mindset/psychology/motivation?
